Option 6, the Escarpment Trail (also called the Meadow Trail) has been selected as the connecting trail between the Ft. Edmonton footbridge and the Terwilligar footbridge (currently under construction).
The update to plans was presented by Bob Marchak, Director, Sustainable Development, Urban Planning and Environment, at a Community Advisory Committee meeting for the Terwillegar area in Riverbend on February 4th.
There is little doubt that the new proposal will get approved when it goes to Executive Committee of City Council on February 24th.
Check the City's website in a few days for maps and pictures of the whole Oleskiw-Terwillegar project.
The ENC has been supportive of this option throughout the selection process. Several ENC members, especially Shirley Coulson and Patsy Cotterill, have been very active in promoting this ecologically sound option and deserve credit for achieving this, the most desirable outcome from the point of view of nature conservation.
